Back in December, we had a look at some premises in Barnstaple town centre. We have urgently needed a base for Family Compass for some time, but finding somewhere affordable, central and big enough was proving tough. It needed to be an office, but also a welcoming and comfortable space for young people and their families.
Covid-19 scuppered our plans throughout April, May, June and July…but by August we knew we really had to take the leap. It is getting increasingly difficult to hire out spaces for sessions and meetings; with our own place we can ensure it is Covid-safe, run socially distanced sessions, store resources and equipment and work in peace and quiet.
It’s been a lot of hard work but we’ve had some amazing help and support and are nearly there.
