My background is in Fine Art, Photography and teaching young people with learning disabilities. Two decades later, after moving from South London to North Devon, I trained and qualified as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor.
I have experience working with adult clients whilst volunteering for a mental health charity, and with 11-18 year olds in a large secondary school. The latter led me to specialise and develop my practice in early intervention, as I feel passionate about the mental health and well being of children and young people.
I work with private clients in addition to my job as a school counsellor, which I’ve had since 2016. My therapeutic approach is humanistic, underpinned by a person-centred model. I incorporate creative intervention, using CBT where appropriate and Mindfulness techniques.
With ongoing learning through CPD I am dedicated to supporting my clients’ varied and complex needs, supporting personal growth and building resilience for their future life challenges.
