I work in an eclectic way, and I am always looking for playful, creative and hopefully fun ways to work with young people.
The final year of my master’s focused on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and this underpins and provides grounding in much of the work that I do.
My career has been rather varied with many paths. My interest in working with people started when I was quite young, about 14, and I set my sights on a degree in psychology. From there I went into the world of work with both large and small businesses. I lived in Asia for many years, and this is where I became a school counsellor for children who found mainstream school too overwhelming.
I am particularly interested in the role that anxiety plays in our wellbeing and have personal experience of anxiety walk alongside me throughout my life, but especially at school and my younger years. I am a trained counsellor and registered with the BACP.
Someone once said to me “do a job that brings you energy” and working alongside young people does just that for me.
