There was a real sense of community spirit over the course of this 2 training course, delivered by Papyrus.
Funded by the NHS Crisis Fund, the course enabled several of the Family Compass team to be joined by many others from various statutory and third sector organisations.
ASIST trains participants to reduce the immediate risk of a suicide and increase the support for a person at risk. The workshop helps participants recognise what a person at risk may need from others in order to keep safe and get help. It’s aimed at anyone over 16.
Feedback afterwards was excellent – we came away feeling better prepared and more confident to support those in our community at risk of suicide. Many thanks to the excellent trainers, Mark and Allye.
