Are you our new Treasurer?

Are you financially experienced and looking for a meaningful way to use your skills?
Family Compass is seeking a committed volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help strengthen the financial stewardship of our children’s mental health services.

As a CIO, strong governance and responsible financial oversight are central to our impact. Your expertise will directly support vulnerable children and families in our community.

About the role
As Treasurer, you will:
• Oversee financial reporting to the Board
• Support budgeting and financial planning
• Ensure appropriate financial controls and compliance
• Liaise with our independent examiner/accountant
• Provide strategic financial insight to trustees
Time commitment: approximately 4 – 6 hours per month, including board meetings.
Attendance at quarterly board meetings would ideally be in person at our Barnstaple (North Devon) office. Other input may be made remotely.

Ideal candidate
This role would particularly suit:
✔ A retired accountant or finance professional seeking purposeful involvement
✔ A finance manager or qualified/part-qualified accountant looking for trustee experience
✔ Someone working toward senior leadership in finance
✔ Individuals familiar with UK charity finance or willing to learn
(Professional qualification welcomed but not essential if experience is strong.)
