I am a registered Social Work England Social Worker and have worked within Children’s Services for over 14 years.
I am a Certified Theraplay Practitioner, offering Theraplay to children and families in individual or group settings, as well as Theraplay workshops to schools and professionals with Family Compass. I work across all ages and have a strong focus on building attunement and attachment.
Before working for Family Compass, I specialised in adoption social work, and took a keen interest in therapeutic interventions such as Life Story Work and Therapeutic parenting, following the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy model (completing the DDP level one training), an effective model to support children who have experienced significant developmental trauma. I have completed the Richard Rose Therapeutic Life Story Work diploma, and offer this fantastic intervention to children and young people.
I began my career working in registered children’s home, moving into management and then into social work. I have considerable understanding, knowledge, and experience of working with children and families who have experienced trauma, and who present with complex needs and behaviour, including learning difficulties and significant health needs.
I am passionate about making a difference to the children and families with I support with therapeutic interventions.
