Sian Ellis, Therapeutic Life Story Work Practitioner

My background is in health and social care, where I have worked with adults, children and families in both support and management roles.

I have experience in supporting a range of complex needs, including learning disabilities, mental health, trauma, and attachment.

I then found my interest gravitating toward working with children and young people. I went on to study at Plymouth University where I gained a first-class honours degree in Early Childhood Studies. During my studies I undertook placements in early years settings and schools and it was here that I realised that my passion lay in providing support and intervention for children and families where adverse childhood experiences were evident.

I have previously worked for a regional adoption agency as a family practitioner, specialising in adoption support. I have experience in undertaking complex assessments and supporting families via intervention and direct work in relation to attachment and trauma needs. Direct work I have undertaken has focused around supporting emotional literacy development, life story work, attachment and healing experiences. I have completed training in trauma and attachment focused therapies including DDP level 1 and Theraplay level 1.

When I’m not working I love to be out at the beach or exploring the woods with my two young children. I find being outdoors relaxing and grounding.
