Hi, I’m Dr. Emily Hale, a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children, young people, adults and families.
I’ve worked extensively in both the NHS and independent sector, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including neurodiversity (such as autism and ADHD), anxiety disorders, trauma, and attachment difficulties.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), which means I’m trained to understand how thoughts, emotions, and experiences shape mental health and wellbeing. While I do have the title of “Dr” you won’t find me taking blood tests or prescribing medication! Instead, my role is to help young people and their families make sense of their difficulties and find ways to manage them.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). This means I meet strict professional and ethical standards, have undergone extensive training, and am committed to ongoing learning to ensure I provide the best possible support.
I know that coming to see a psychologist (or any mental health professional) for the first time can feel daunting, and I want to reassure you that my approach is friendly, warm, and adaptable. I take the time to get to know each child and family, making sure sessions feel as comfortable, safe, and tailored as possible. My goal is always to help young people and families feel understood and empowered.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, and one of my absolute favourite things to do is walk my little Jack Russell on the beach—nothing beats the fresh sea air and watching her zoom around in the sand!
