Dance movement psychotherapy

Dance Movement Psychotherapy uses movement and the body to help children express feelings, process experiences and build emotional wellbeing.

It can be especially helpful for children who find it difficult to understand or communicate what they are feeling through words.

Through movement, play and creative expression, children can safely explore emotions and experiences alongside a trained therapist. There is no need to be able to dance – the focus is on expression, connection and what the body can communicate.

Dance Movement Psychotherapy can help children manage difficult emotions, reduce anxiety, build confidence and self-awareness, strengthen relationships and develop a greater sense of safety and connection with their own bodies.
